Heart of Worship
“Wonder is the basis of worship.” –
Thomas Carlyle
Worship, simply put, is a
way of life. It’s about more than
singing songs,
saying prayers, and
listening to sermons. Worship is about
living throughout
the week, throughout the
year, and throughout our lives—living in
relationship
with God, with one another,
and with our world.
As Christians, we meet about
once a week to worship together. We
sing, we
laugh, we pray, we get
quiet, we read, we listen, we commit, we
share… and
hopefully we get a sense of
what God is doing in our lives and in
our world.
11:00 a.m. Sunday Morning Worship
Sunday morning worship
services are open to a diverse community
of all ages.
Our typical order of worship
includes opportunities for reflection,
prayer, sermons
for adults and children, and
vibrant music.
7:00 p.m. Sunday Evening Worship
Intimate and somewhat
informal, Evening Worship is central to
the Campus
Ministry program and
attracts students, young adults, and
families alike.
During the service, we hear
God's Word read, proclaimed, and
celebrated in the
Lord's Supper. Students,
come early at 6:00 and join us in our
Campus Dinner
(free!) and then stick
around for worship!
7:00 p.m. Monthly Evening Taizé
Service
On the last Sunday of each
month, the 7:00 service is a Taizé-style
service
in the Sanctuary. Taizé
worship incorporates song, prayer,
silence, sacrament,
and scripture in a deeply
reflective service during which
participants are invited
to shed all distraction in
favor of prayerful meditation. This
service is open to
all, and children’s
participation is encouraged! |
